When Sandy Albright (Jennifer O'Neill), a big-city lawyer, returns to her small hometown to resume her deceased father's law practice, she finds her beliefs tested when she defends a migrant worker named Dixon, played by J.E. Freeman, who is accused of murdering her mentor. The 1985 television movie originally aired on CBS and also stars Robert S. Woods ("One Life to Live") as Sheriff Dean Hartley and Richard Farnsworth (The Straight Story, Misery), who earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role as Judge Grant Pettitt, Albright's mentor.
