A former intelligence officer, detective Dave Hatcher (Robert Wagner) is hired by a Bishop (E.G. Marshall) to help verify reports that a devout young girl has miraculous spiritual powers, a possible modern day saint. If true, Hatcher is expected to kidnap the girl, who is being held captive in the home of her father, an ailing syndicate kingpin, whose associates will stop at nothing to keep her imprisoned. Based on the novel "The Issue of the Bishop's Blood" by Thomas Patrick McMahon.
