Ervil LeBaron (Brian Dennehy) is a dynamic and deranged leader of a fanatical religious group. Ervil is motivated by lust and greed and he plots to kill other religious leaders for the money that a larger congregation would bring him. Dan Conners (William Devane) is the FBI agent on the case, and it becomes his all-consuming passion. Based on a true story, this is a gripping tale of religious fervor, faith and good versus evil.
