Director Howard Zieff (Private Benjamin, My Girl) sets them sparring all over Los Angeles, including two boxing landmarks, the Main Street Gym and the Olympic Auditorium. But it's not boxing but the mating of love and laughter that's the main event of The Main Event. And it's nice to feel the knockout punch of movie magic again.
